The Three Passes trek is the ultimate challenge in the Everest region. This epic 20-day adventure crosses three high passes — Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m), and Renjo La (5,360m) — while also visiting Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes. Day-by-Day Itinerary
A carefully designed itinerary with proper acclimatization to maximize your chances of success.
Welcome and trip briefing.
Scenic flight and begin trek.
Classic trek to the Sherpa capital.
Hike to Khumjung or Everest View Hotel.
Trek to the famous monastery.
Enter the high alpine zone.
Day hike for acclimatization.
Trek to the base for Kongma La.
First pass crossing with stunning views of Makalu and Everest.
Visit Everest Base Camp and return to Gorak Shep.
Sunrise from Kala Patthar, then trek to Dzongla.
Second pass crossing over rock and glacier.
Cross Ngozumpa Glacier to the beautiful Gokyo Lakes.
Climb Gokyo Ri for panoramic views of four 8,000m peaks.
Trek to the base of the third and final pass.
Third pass crossing with views back to Everest. Descend to Thame.
Trek back to Namche through Sherpa villages.

This is a very challenging trek requiring excellent fitness and prior high-altitude trekking experience. You'll cross three passes above 5,300m and trek for 6-8 hours daily in demanding terrain.
Our itinerary includes buffer days. If conditions are unsafe, we'll wait or take alternative routes. Safety is always our top priority. Your guide will make weather-based decisions.
